Chris Dieterich is a strategist in BlackRock’s ETF and Index Investments group. Previously he was a journalist at The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and Dow Jones Newswires specializing in ETFs and investing. He writes primarily about indexing and ETF education.

Ewen was Chief Investment Strategist for BlackRock and the BlackRock Investment Institute. He earned an MA degree, with honors, in modern history from Oriel College, Oxford University.

Isabelle Mateos y Lago

Deputy Head of BlackRock's Official Institutions Group

Isabelle Mateos y Lago is Deputy Head of BlackRock's Official Institutions Group and a member of the firm's Global Operating Committee and Geopolitical Risk Steering Committee. Isabelle's service with the firm dates back to January 2015, initially as senior advisor to Vice Chairman Philipp Hildebrand. From 2016 to April 2019, she was Chief Multi-Asset Strategist in the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII). In that role she contributed to shape BII's macro investment views and led the firm's work on geopolitical risks and their market impact; she was also responsible for developing thematic investment thought-leadership, including in the area of sustainable investing. Prior to joining BlackRock, Isabelle was a senior official at the IMF, where she worked for 15 years in a range of positions straddling economic analysis, policy making, strategy, and global governance (including as G20-liaison and as a Member of the Executive Board). She started her career at the French Ministry of Finance.

Jean Boivin, PhD

Head of BlackRock Investment Institute

Jean Boivin, PhD, is the Head of the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII). The institute leverages BlackRock’s expertise and produces proprietary research to provide insights on the global economy, markets, geopolitics and long-term asset allocation – all to help clients and portfolio managers navigate financial markets. Dr. Boivin is also BII’s Global Head of Research. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2014, he served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada and Associate Deputy Finance Minister, serving as Canada's representative at the G7, G20 and Financial Stability Board. Dr. Boivin has also taught at Columbia Business School and HEC Montreal, and has written widely on macroeconomics, monetary policy and finance. Dr. Boivin earned a B.Sc. degree in economics from the Université de Montreal in 1995, an MA in economics from Princeton University in 1997 and a PhD in economics from Princeton University in 2000.

Jeffrey Rosenberg, CFA

BlackRock Senior Portfolio Manager

Jeffrey Rosenberg, CFA, Managing Director, is a senior portfolio manager leading our alpha-seeking long-only and factor efforts for Blackrock’s Systematic Fixed Income (“SFI”) portfolio management team. He is an active member of the SFI Investment Committee and Executive Committee and senior portfolio manager for the Alternative Capital Strategies fund. Mr. Rosenberg’s service with the firm dates back to 2011, when he joined the Fundamental fixed income group as Chief Investment Strategist for fixed income. In 2016, this role transitioned into the BlackRock Investment Institute. His responsibilities included helping to develop BlackRock's strategic and tactical views on sector allocation within fixed income, currencies and commodities. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Rosenberg spent nearly 10 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as the Chief Credit Strategist coordinating strategy across all fixed income, securitized assets, credit, FX and commodities. In addition, Mr. Rosenberg specialized in quantitative credit modeling and developed the first commercialized credit portfolio analytics system from a dealer firm. Mr. Rosenberg earned a Masters in Science degree in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon, a BA in Mathematics from the Univ. of Minnesota, and a BA in Finance from the Univ. of Wisconsin.

Kate Moore

Chief Equity Strategist

Kate Moore, Managing Director, is Chief Equity Strategist for BlackRock and is a member of the BlackRock Investment Institute. She is responsible for developing equity market insights and actionable investment advice, as well as for representing BlackRock’s market views to clients.

Kurt Reiman, Managing Director, is BlackRock’s Chief Investment Strategist for Canada and is a member of the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII). Kurt is responsible for creating value added Canadian financial market and investment insights and communicating them, alongside our global views, to our clients as well as to investors and our client-facing professionals throughout Canada. Prior to his current role, Kurt was a Global Investment Strategist with responsibility for presenting BlackRock’s multi-asset investment views to clients throughout North America, primarily in the U.S. Kurt joined BlackRock in 2013 with over 15 years of experience in investment research and strategy. Prior to joining BlackRock, he was the Head of Thematic Research at UBS Wealth Management in New York and Zurich. He also held various analyst positions at Reuters and the G7 Group. Kurt earned a BS degree in business and economics from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh and his MS degree in international relations with a concentration in international economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC. Kurt also spent a year at McGill University in the finance department and focused on Canadian studies during his undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Matthew Tucker, CFA

Global Head of Systematic Fixed Income Strategy

Matt is the Global Head of Systematic Fixed Income Strategy. He leads fixed income product strategy for BlackRock’s systematic active, smart beta, hedge fund, index and ETF businesses. Matt has been with the firm since 1996, and was the portfolio manager on the first U.S. fixed income ETFs launched in 2002. A CFA charter holder, he writes about bond markets and portfolio construction.

Pat Chiefalo joined BlackRock in 2014 as Managing Director, head of iShares Product for Canada. He brings with him 15 years of industry experience on both the sell side and buy side of the business. Prior to BlackRock Pat spent 5 years leading National Bank Financial Exchange Traded Funds Research and Strategy team which offered the most comprehensive and street leading research of ETFs among all the Canadian dealers. Pat spent 6 years in Equity Research at both Scotia Capital and Merrill Lynch as lead equity analyst as well as several years on the derivatives desk for Merrill Lynch - Bank of America. Pat has a BASc (Mechanical Engineering degree) from the University of Toronto, an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and is a CFA charter holder.

Rachel Siu, CFA, Director, is a member of the Product Strategy team within BlackRock's Global Fixed Income group. She is focused on product strategy in Canada for both the institutional and iShares businesses. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2015, Ms. Siu was responsible for manager research and selection in the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) group of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). Ms. Siu started her career as a member of the Global Markets Institute, the public policy research unit of Goldman Sachs, providing research and high-level advisory services to policymakers, regulators and investors around the world. Ms. Siu earned a BA degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and is a CFA charterholder.

Richard Turnill

Former BlackRock Global Chief Investment Strategist

Richard Turnill was BlackRock’s global chief investment strategist, and led investment strategy within the BlackRock Investment Institute. Previously he was chief investment strategist with the firm’s active management business and has also led BlackRock’s global equity team, serving as a portfolio manager.

Rick Rieder

BlackRock Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income

Rick is BlackRock’s Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income and a member of the company’s Global Operating Committee. Mr. Rieder is the lead portfolio manager of BlackRock’s Multi-sector funds including Strategic Income Opportunities Fund (BSIIX), Total Return Fund (MAHQX), Core Bond Fund (BFMCX) and also the Strategic Global Bond Fund (MAWIX).

Russ Koesterich, CFA

Portfolio Manager for BlackRock’s Global Allocation Fund

Russ is a Portfolio Manager for BlackRock’s Global Allocation Fund. He works with portfolio managers to establish macro-level views and also develops systematic strategies to augment the team’s security-selection process and risk management. He is the author of two books, including “The Ten Trillion Dollar Gamble,” on positioning portfolios for the growing U.S. deficit.

Terry Simpson, CFA, CAIA

Head of Investment Governance & Insights for Client Portfolio Solutions

Terry A. Simpson, CFA, CAIA, is the Head of Investment Governance & Insights for Client Portfolio Solutions (CPS). Mr. Simpson's service with the firm dates back to 2004, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. Prior to moving to his current role, Mr. Simpson was a Multi-Asset Investment Strategist for BlackRock's Global Investment Strategy team, a division of the BlackRock Investment Institute.
